It's a good idea but it seems pricey.

Thank you so much for the link! I do run my dogs at home on the treadmill, but when I come to Edmonton if we don't hit terwilliger park (and we go less often as my sibe has a mind of his own these days) they get a ton of energy built up.

Edmonton has an amazing amoung of serices for dog lovers!

PS I will pass this onto several of my friends!

Cool video Scheri. I love how dogs play with each other. It's good to enhance their socialization skills.

I recently went to the all seasons k9 awareness place. We had a great time. I ran all 3 of my dogs on the treadmills and them my dogs got some play socialization time in the indoor/outdoor park part. It was a very nice way for the dogs to get excercise and be social at the same time, and come home both mentally and physically satisfied.

The owner was very nice and genuinely loves dogs and interacting with them.

I do not live in Edmonton so it is a really nice experience for my dogs when we come to town.

Socialization is indeed very important for dogs. It has a psychological effect that molds the dog's personality.I am planning to enroll my doberman to a socialization class but still am not sure whether to enroll him in a large or small class. Paying for larger classes may be less expensive but smaller classes offer better focus.

I guess it depends on your goal. A big class with lots of dogs offers a good variety of socialization. What classes are you looking at?

I guess you are right Tamara. Being on s large class would better enhance my dog's socialization skills. I haven't decided yet but I might go for a larger class. I was busy the past few weeks helping out a friend's wedding.

For those wanting a play time on Saturdays Grand Paws has an indoor dog park. It is a $5.00 drop in.

    http://www.grandpaws.ca/indoordogpark.html

Bring your furry friend for some fun while you enjoy a hot or cold beverage and socializing with other dog owners in a park like setting without the harsh elements that we enjoy so much in Alberta.

Do a little shopping, watch a movie (dog friendly of course), play with a ball or favourite toy or just relax on a bench and watch your dog play with his or her friends while you have a nice chat with another owner that is enthusiastic to share dog stories.

This is a fun way for dogs and owners alike to interact with others. While Grand Paws has a staff member on site we ask that only those dogs who enjoy sharing and playing come out.

Saturdays at Grand Paws 11 am to 3 pm.

Drop in fee $5.00 per dog, season passes available.

Space is limited, so reservations are recommended. All participants must pre register.

Please see their indoor play agreement on their website.
