Edmonton City Police K9 stabbed

Edmonton Police K9 Cora was stabbed last night while on duty. The injury was non life threatening and she is expected to recover. She was stabbed with a screwdriver.

I saw this on t.v. tonight as well. Poor Kora (sp?)

I am wondering why they only have 1 drug sniffer though.. Or did they say they have another? I know they said she was very important to the team because she can ALSO sniff out drugs..

Hopefully she recovers quickly!

I do not believe Cora is the only drug sniffer. However a dog is either a drug sniffer or a bomb dog, so I would guess there is a split in the dogs for those that are drug dogs and those that are bomb dogs.

The main issue is that the EPS K9 unit is small and every dog is needed. One dog off rotation means added work for the rest.

I hope she makes a very speedy and complete recovery.
